I am a
Senior and have lived in my house for over 30 years. I needed help with my
kitchen as it was getting harder and harder to reach into cabinets and find
everything I needed. I still had everything from the day I moved in 30 years
ago! Plus all the things a person collects from every Tupperware and Pampered
Chef party I ever went to! That was when I had all the kids at home and they are
all grown and gone now. I needed Help!
Denise from
Get It Together, Inc. not only helped me de-clutter all the unnecessary items
but she helped redesign my kitchen. I am staying in my home and wanted to make
sure I would be able to function well and update the kitchen at the same time.
She helped
me pick out cabinets, counter tops, flooring, sink, lighting and color. She
designed in more counter space and cabinets. She helped with ordering and
deliveries.
Denise
referred the contractor as I had no idea who to call. Eddie Cortez and his team
from Lucky 7 Construction did a great job! It was done quickly and they were
courteous and cleaned up their mess every day.
I love my
new kitchen! Instead of lower cabinets, Denise chose drawers that slide easily
so I can reach all my pots, pans, bowls, etc. without having to bend down to the
floor. My hips and knees are an issue for me so the less I need to bend the
better. My bake ware has a special cabinet so it all fits neatly and easy to
find. It is so nice to be able to reach everything easily and have a place for
everything!

walked me through the entire process, explaining choices, coaching me during the
sort and purge process, and encouraging me all the way.
I liked Get
It Together Inc so much I had Denise come back and help me downsize and organize
my garage! It too had not been touched in 30 years! Denise helped me get rid of
things that no longer worked but for some reason I didn’t get rid of. Denise
helped set up a Garage Sale and helped me run it. I had quite a few things from
my mother and other family members and she helped me store them correctly so
they would be kept in good condition. I still do my own yardwork and now I can
easily reach all my tools and mowers are a snap to park. Denise set up a bin
storage system with everything marked so there is a place for everything from
camping to Christmas.
I would
recommend Denise at Get It Together Inc for any one who wants to get the most
out of the space in their home. She understands how a Senior needs to downsize
and change aspects of their home around because of changing lifestyles. She
helps you
want to
make these changes and if you aren’t ready she explains how it will be helpful.
I am so glad I hired Get It Together Inc. I didn’t think it would make such a
difference but it has. I am sorting the rest of my home a little at a time and I
am enjoying it.

I am on
disability at the age of 52. Denise Hartman-Joyce came into home, a 350 sq ft
efficiency apartment, to help me organize and find storage because I moved from
a larger home to a smaller place. I also needed help to save steps because
everything had become an effort to do because of my disability.
Denise set
up a small office inside my closet in the kitchen-which cut down on all the
papers and junk mail I get. Now I look at it and throw it away or make a
decision on what to do with it that day and file it not stack it on the counter
or the dining room table.
I moved
from a bigger place to a smaller place and I had sets of dishes, silverware,
pots and pans, extra appliances, etc that I kept thinking I would use. Out of
habit or fear I seemed to keep 2 of everything because I am on a fixed income.
Most of the time I forgot I had extra items stuffed way back in the closet. All
these extra items I donated to people who didn’t have any.
In my
bedroom I have a small vanity that I used to keep pictures and collectables out
for display, now I have storage bins under the skirt that store my makeup,
medicines, and hair products that I use every day in easy reach. I had at least
30 sweaters. I went through all that I didn’t wear last year and donated them. I
have shoes for every outfit and they are stored in a plastic shoe holder on the
back of my door. I switch summer to winter with ease. I can find belts, shoes
and purses to match right down to my jewelry that are kept in plastic bins that
are separated in slots. Linens are stored in the closet inside one of the pillow
case, they stay stacked, easy to choose, and all the pieces are together. My
blankets are stored in a big chest that serves as a coffee table. Everything is
easily accessible, which makes things easier with little effort, so it is less
tiring.
Denise did
more than her job, she personalized it for my needs. She didn’t just think of me
as a client but thought things through with my health issues and how to make
each closet and room work with my level of endurance.
Creative
changes are difficult sometimes, letting go of the old and in with the new, but
it can be done. With Denise’s special conversations and help it became very easy
to toss it, pass it on, or think outside the box in my everyday living. Denise
is great! I would recommend her for any job, big or small, she can handle any
situation or else find a way.
